The waters off St. Helens on Tasmania's east coast provide world-class
saltwater gamefishing opportunities. As summer approaches the warm
oxygen rich east Australian current from the north clashes with the cold
nutrient rich current from the south. The resulting sea surface
temperature rise, formation of eddys and current lines provide ideal
conditions for the pelagic gamefish to hunt and feed. Tasmania is home
to 8 world records for Southern Bluefin Tuna as well as numerous
Australian records for the other pelagic species.

Anglers with a pre-organised group require the group price.
Anglers with a small number have the choice of paying the group price or
the per head share price to share the trip with the other anglers

For: Tasmanian Striped Trumpeter, Deep-sea Trevalla, Hapuka, Gemfish,
Silver Morwong, Coral Perch, Rock Cod, King Flathead, Gummy Shark and
Ling
Tasmania produces some of the finest eating quality deepwater scale fish
that can provide unique angling opportunities. St. Helens is fortunate
in having an array of broken bottom, reefy structures, deep water
canyons and sea mounts within close proximity of port. These areas grow
the seaweed, coral and sponges that provide food and shelter for a lot
of deep water species. Fish such as the Tasmanian Striped Trumpeter that
are caught up to 15kg are not only a superb eating fish but a very hard
fighting fish.
